Content Guidelines

Only Everywhere is built on honest, firsthand information from people who’ve actually been there. These guidelines exist to keep that information useful and trustworthy. While we encourage user reviews for personal, first-hand information, please refer to all business accessibility guides for the most updated information and specific rules at each site. We value the safety, respect, and privacy of our contributors. Below are guidelines for written and visual content.

What Makes a Review Useful:

The most useful reviews go beyond star ratings, they are specific. You don’t need to cover everything — just share what was relevant to your experience. “It was accessible” doesn’t help anyone plan — but “the accessible entrance is around the side on 5th Street, not the main entrance” does.

Different things matter to different people. Some things worth mentioning:

Getting There and Around — How far is accessible parking from the entrance? Is the accessible entrance obvious or hidden? Is terrain flat, hilly, paved, crowded? Are elevators reliable?

Hearing and Vision — Are there signs that are easy to read? Did captioning or assistive listening actually work? Was audio description available, and was staff able to help with it?

Sensory Environment — How loud or crowded does it get? Are there quieter areas or times? Is lighting harsh? Are there strong smells? Would you bring someone who is noise-sensitive?

Staff and Services — Are staff knowledgeable and helpful? Did they know how to help, or did you have to figure things out yourself? Was assistance offered without being condescending?

What Wasn’t Accurate — If something listed on the venue’s website was wrong, broken, or required advance notice they didn’t mention, that’s some of the most valuable information you can share.

You don’t have to cover everything. One specific, honest observation is worth more than a paragraph of general impressions.

First-Hand Experiences:

Reviews should reflect your own direct experience. Keep it accurate and recent — conditions change, and outdated information can be worse than none.

Guest Reviews:

Anonymous reviews are allowed but held to the same standards as all content. We reserve the right to remove reviews that violate these guidelines.

Inappropriate Content:

Personal insults, threats, harassment or derogatory comments including hate speech or bigotry are not appropriate on this site and will be removed. Violent or sexually explicit content is not allowed and will be removed. Content promoting an illegal or criminal activity will not be published and we reserve the right to report to authorities. Profane and vulgar language that may be offensive will be removed.

Conflicts of Interest & Promotional Content:

Content should be unbiased and objective. Do not write reviews for your own business, or that of an employer, friend, family. Similarly, content written by direct competitors will be considered biased. Promotional material, advertisements, and solicitations should be coordinated through an official advertising plan. Some early reviews on this site were submitted by the site team to demonstrate the review format. All such reviews reflect genuine firsthand visits.

Privacy:

Do not include other people’s personal information (names, contact details, etc.) in reviews. Do not post photos or videos that clearly identify individuals without their consent.

Intellectual Property:

Content should be original, and not plagiarized from other sites or users.
