OnlyEverywhere.com is an accessibility-focused travel directory. This policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, and what we do with it. We keep this plain and specific — no filler.

What data we collect and why

Reviews and comments

When you leave a review or comment, we collect:

  • Your name (or the name you provide)
  • Your email address
  • Your IP address and browser type (for spam detection)
  • The content of your review or comment

If you provide an email address that is registered with Gravatar, your profile picture may appear next to your review. Gravatar is a service run by Automattic. You can read their privacy policy at automattic.com/privacy.

Reviews and comments are retained indefinitely so we can recognize and approve follow-up submissions automatically. You can request deletion at any time (see Your Rights below).

Account registration

If you register an account on OnlyEverywhere.com, we store the personal information you provide in your user profile — typically your name, email address, and any optional details you add. You can view, edit, or delete your profile information at any time, except you cannot change your own username. Site administrators can also view and edit this information.

Listing submissions

If you submit a venue listing using the Add a Listing feature, we collect the information you enter in the submission form. Business information submitted through listings is published publicly on the site. We also retain the account or contact information of the person who submitted the listing for administrative purposes.

If you are a business owner and claim a listing, your account becomes associated with that listing and you gain the ability to edit it. Our team reviews claims and may contact you to verify ownership.

Cookies

We use cookies in the following situations:

  • If you leave a review or comment and opt in, your name and email are saved in a cookie for one year so you don’t have to re-enter them.
  • When you visit the login page, a temporary cookie is set to check if your browser accepts cookies. It contains no personal data and is deleted when you close your browser.
  • When you log in, cookies are set to keep you logged in. These last two days normally, or two weeks if you select Remember Me. They are deleted when you log out.
  • If you edit or publish a listing, a short-lived cookie records the post ID. It contains no personal data and expires after one day.

Spam detection — Akismet

We use Akismet, a spam filtering service run by Automattic, to screen reviews and comments before they are published. Akismet receives the content of submissions, your IP address, browser type, and other technical metadata. You can read Akismet’s privacy policy at akismet.com/privacy.

Google reCAPTCHA

We use Google reCAPTCHA v3 on our forms to detect automated bot submissions. reCAPTCHA runs invisibly in the background and collects behavioral data (such as mouse movements and browsing patterns) to determine whether you are a human. This data is sent to Google and governed by Google’s Privacy Policy and Terms of Service. We do not receive or store the behavioral data collected by reCAPTCHA directly.

Analytics — Jetpack and Google Analytics

We use two analytics tools to understand how people use the site:

  • Jetpack Stats (by Automattic) — collects anonymized data about page views, traffic sources, and popular content. See automattic.com/privacy for details.
  • Google Analytics — collects data about your visit including pages viewed, time on site, device type, and approximate location. This data is processed by Google and subject to Google’s Privacy Policy. We use this data only in aggregate to improve the site and do not use it to identify individual visitors.

You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking by using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

Embedded content

Some pages on this site may include embedded content such as maps or videos. Embedded content from other websites behaves as if you visited those websites directly. Those sites may collect data about you, set cookies, and track your interaction with the embedded content.

Advertising and affiliate links

We do not currently run ads on OnlyEverywhere.com. In the future, we may participate in advertising programs, including Google AdSense, or include affiliate links to products and services. If we do, those programs may use cookies and collect data about your browsing behavior to serve relevant ads. We will update this policy when those programs are active. Any affiliate relationships will be disclosed clearly on relevant pages.

Media uploads

If you upload images to the site, avoid uploading images that contain embedded location data (EXIF GPS data). Visitors may be able to download images from the site and extract any location information embedded in them.

Who we share your data with

We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with the third-party services described in this policy (Akismet, Google reCAPTCHA, Google Analytics, Jetpack, Gravatar) as necessary for those services to function. If you request a password reset, your IP address is included in the reset email sent by our hosting provider.

Your rights

If you have an account on this site or have submitted a review or listing, you can:

  • Request an export of the personal data we hold about you
  • Request that we delete your personal data

These rights do not apply to data we are required to keep for legal, security, or anti-spam purposes. To make a request, contact us through the form on our Contact page.

California residents — CCPA

If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we collect, request deletion of your data, and opt out of the sale of your data. We do not sell personal data. To exercise your rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act, contact us through our Contact page.

Data retention

Reviews and comments and their metadata are retained indefinitely unless you request deletion. Account information is retained for as long as your account is active. Listing submission data is retained for as long as the listing exists on the site.
