Visitors under 18 always receive free admission, making the museum welcoming to families. The museum’s single-level gallery layout in Building C supports ease of movement. The Fort Mason Center campus includes accessible parking spaces at several locations throughout the grounds.
Visitors report that the museum is compact and easy to navigate, with a welcoming and knowledgeable staff who enhance the visit. Some visitors note that the location within Fort Mason can be tricky to find on a first visit, and that the parking areas in lower Fort Mason can have uneven or cracked pavement in spots.
