Overview

The Bradbury Building is a National Historic Landmark in downtown Los Angeles, renowned for its stunning 1893 Victorian-era interior featuring ornate ironwork, open-cage elevators, and a skylit central court. The building is a working office building with limited public access to the ground floor lobby during business hours.

The main entrance on Broadway has one step up. The step-free ADA entrance is on the 3rd Street side of the building, where a ramp leads in. For safety this door is kept locked, so guests ring the doorbell in the middle of the four doors and security opens it. Accessible restrooms are available within the building. Due to the historic nature of the structure and its working office function, access is limited to the first floor only during posted visiting hours: Monday to Friday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., unless private events or filming limit or close access.

Visitors are limited to the ground-floor lobby. Guests of building tenants can reach other floors by the manually operated elevators, without using stairs. The lobby has no seating, but Boichik Bagels and Blue Bottle Coffee, whose accessible entrances flank the main Broadway entrance, are open to the public and have seating. Photos and videos are permitted on cell phone cameras only. The atrium echoes, and peak hours or maintenance work can make the lobby loud. The venue recommends noise-cancelling headphones for guests sensitive to loud sounds.

A marvel of architecture featured in Blade Runner. There isn't much to see - just the street level lobby. Not sure if you're allowed on the upper floors. Entry doors are not automated. Street parking only. Good luck.
