Los Angeles County Museum of Art

Overview

LACMA is the largest art museum in the western United States, spanning multiple buildings on Wilshire Boulevard with a collection of over 142,000 works across 6,000 years of history.

Accessible parking and drop-off zones are available. Accessible restrooms are on site, frequent benches and rest areas are provided throughout the campus, and loaner mobility aids can be requested.

Large, high-contrast signage is used throughout the museum.

LACMA identifies less crowded times to help visitors who benefit from lower-stimulation environments — check their accessibility page for current recommendations. Service animals are welcome.

Visitors report the museum is quietest Tue/Thu between 1–4pm. Some visitors noted staff with bags of touchable objects for tours — helpful for visitors who have vision impairments.
