The Oakland Museum of California (OMCA) is a multi-level museum dedicated to the art, history, and natural sciences of California. The museum is fully wheelchair accessible, accommodating manual and electric wheelchairs, electric mobility scooters, and other power-driven mobility devices. Loaner wheelchairs are available at the Ticketing Desk on a first-come, first-served basis. Accessible parking spaces are located on the upper level of the parking garage on Oak Street, with a ramp leading directly into the museum. Three accessibility ramps provide entrance points including the main Oak Street entrance and the 12th Street entrance facing Lake Merritt. An elevator is available near the parking garage entrance on Level 2, and accessible restrooms are located on all levels.
Gender-neutral restrooms and a family restroom with an adult-sized changing table are available on Level 2. The museum campus spans multiple levels and staff are available to assist visitors navigating the space, though staff are not permitted to lift visitors or push wheelchairs. A dedicated ramp along 10th and Fallon Streets provides direct access to the cafe on the Mid Level.
