Chabot Space & Science Center

Overview

Chabot Space & Science Center is Oakland’s premier STEAM education destination, situated within Redwood Regional Park. The center offers free parking in a 3-level parking structure on site. Admission is deeply discounted for EBT cardholders through the Museums For All program, with entry available for $1 per person (up to four individuals), and free for Chabot members.

The venue is located in a wooded park setting, so visitors with mobility considerations should plan accordingly. Free telescope viewings are offered Friday and Saturday evenings, weather permitting.

Visitors report that the hilly, forested setting means some outdoor paths can be uneven, and that arriving early on weekends helps avoid peak crowding. The parking structure is noted as convenient for those with mobility needs.
