Overview

The Marine Mammal Center in Sausalito is a marine animal rescue and research facility open to the public with free admission (advance online reservation required). The entire facility is ADA accessible, including an elevator in the courtyard for accessible viewing of patient pens. Accessible placard parking spaces are available directly in front of the Center at the top of the hill, and temporary accessible drop-off and pick-up is permitted at the front entrance for larger vehicles. A loaner wheelchair is available onsite on a first-come, first-served basis. Seating is available in the Ocean View Room, on the porch and courtyard benches, and at patio picnic tables.

The Center offers a PENFriend audio device — a pen-shaped tool that reads exhibit content aloud when tapped on associated stickers throughout the Visitor Center — available for checkout at the Welcome Desk for visitors with low or no vision. American Sign Language interpretation is provided at no additional cost for all tours and programs on designated ASL Days (Sunday, July 26, 2026 and Sunday, August 23, 2026). Service animals as defined under U.S. federal law are welcome in public areas and must remain under handler control at all times.
