The Museum of Craft and Design (MCD) is a contemporary museum in San Francisco’s Dogpatch neighborhood dedicated to craft, design, and the intersection of art and industry.
The museum offers a wheelchair lift, a loaner wheelchair, and closed captions on all videos. Large print text and audio tours for current exhibitions are available via QR code. MCD has also partnered with Envision to deploy Ally, an AI assistant for blind and low-vision visitors — scan a QR code at the entrance to use your phone camera to get audio descriptions and ask questions about works on view. Touch tours are available for groups upon request. A Social Story describing what to expect during a visit is available on the museum’s website.
General admission is $10, with reduced rates for students and seniors. Free admission for children 12 and under, members, active-duty military, veterans, first responders, and EBT/Medi-Cal/CalFresh cardholders. All visitors enter free on the first Thursday of every month.
