Universal Studios Hollywood

Overview

Universal Studios Hollywood is a major theme park and working movie studio offering rides, shows, and the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, among other attractions.

Two drop-off locations are available: the Ride Share zone inside the Frankenstein Parking Garage near the Main Entrance (closest to the Theme Park), and a second at the far end of CityWalk near Buca di Beppo. Accessible parking is offered in all parking areas and structures, with Front Gate Parking the closest to the entrance.

All restrooms throughout the Park are wheelchair-accessible. Wheelchairs and Electric Convenience Vehicles are available to rent for a fee at a rental facility near the main entrance.

Universal offers a complimentary ASL interpreting service, with interpreters available to accompany guests for up to three hours. Assistive listening devices can be requested at Guest Relations for use at select shows and attractions. Captioning is available upon request at select attractions, including Despicable Me: Minion Mayhem, DreamWorks Theatre featuring Kung Fu Panda, The Secret Life of Pets: Off the Leash, The Simpsons Ride, and the Studio Tour.

For guests who are blind or have low vision, large-print scripts with Braille are available to borrow at Guest Relations and at each live show, including the Frog Choir, Triwizard Spirit Rally, and WaterWorld, as well as for the Studio Tour.

Every attraction has a sensory guide rating Touch, Taste, Sound, Sight, and Smell on a 1 to 10 scale, to help guests plan around sensory sensitivities. Noise-reducing headphones and sensory kits are available at Guest Relations. Team Members are trained to assist guests with autism and other cognitive disabilities. Additional quiet spaces are available at Laemmle Court and the pathway behind Ollivanders, between the Wizarding World of Harry Potter and Springfield.

A Family Center is located on the Upper Lot near WaterWorld, to the left of the restrooms, open daily from 10 AM until the Park closes. It offers a quiet space for families to take a break, with two quiet rooms available for nursing or desensitizing, three gender-neutral restrooms with changing tables, and a sink and microwave for food preparation. Weighted blankets and sensory toys are available in the space.

Service animals are welcome in all restaurants, shows, and retail locations. Some rides cannot accommodate service animals due to the nature of the ride experience; kennels are available near those attractions for the duration of the ride.

Visitors report that the accessible parking closest to the entrance fills quickly. Arriving early, or specifying at the entrance that you need close parking if you plan to rent a mobility device inside, is recommended.

Access Limitations & Conditions

Wheelchair and ECV rental is available for a fee, not complimentary. The closest accessible parking (Front Gate) is first come, first served and cannot be reserved. All shows and queues accommodate wheelchairs, but rides require transfer to the ride vehicle; wheelchairs cannot be boarded directly. Park employees are not trained to assist with lifting, guests who need transfer assistance should bring a companion. ASL interpreting must be requested at least one week in advance, and interpreter sessions run up to three hours. Assistive listening devices must be requested at Guest Relations and work only at select shows and attractions. Captioning at select attractions is available only upon request and is limited to designated shows and rides, not park-wide. Service animals cannot be accommodated on several rides, including Flight of the Hippogriff, Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey, Jurassic World, Mario Kart: Bowser’s Challenge, Revenge of the Mummy, and The Secret Life of Pets: Off the Leash; kennels are provided nearby.
