Overview

Winchester Mystery House is a historic Victorian mansion in San Jose, California, famous for its eccentric architecture and the legacy of Sarah Winchester. Due to the historic nature of the interior, the mansion itself is not wheelchair accessible, but the venue offers a dedicated ADA Video Tour for wheelchair users — an in-person experience held in an accessible outside building with a knowledgeable guide, followed by free exploration of the gardens. Sarah’s Victorian Gardens and Sarah’s Garden Tour are wheelchair accessible, and accessible facilities include restrooms, Sarah’s Shooting Gallery, the central courtyard, the original greenhouse, the tool shed, and the gift shop.

On select dates, ASL-guided tours are available with fluent interpreters. Guests may also bring their own interpreter to any tour at no additional charge for the interpreter’s ticket. An immersive 360-degree online tour allows visitors to navigate through the mansion’s rooms at their own pace, though this online experience does not include narration. Certified service dogs are welcome throughout the venue.
