3rd street promenade is a no-cars street so there are curbs and plenty of tourists and street performers to avoid. It can be crowded on weekends especially in the summer. There are several shops and restaurants nearby. Other the inside restaurants, the only restrooms are in a parking garage through an alley. The parking garages are mostly on 2nd and 4th street, so they can be a bit of a distance. The better restrooms are in the 2nd Street Place multi-level mall, at the south end of the Promenade.
