Palm Springs Air Museum

Overview

The Palm Springs Air Museum is home to one of the world’s largest collections of flying WWII aircraft, displayed in air-conditioned hangars with no barriers — visitors can get up close to the planes.

The facility is fully ADA compliant; all hangars are accessible by wheelchair, walker, and scooter. A limited number of complimentary wheelchairs are available on a first-come, first-served basis. An elevator serves the education library and simulators on the second floor. Pre-arranged group tours with full accessibility are accommodated daily from 10 AM to 3 PM.

Children 12 and under are free with a paid adult admission; discounts are available for active and retired military, seniors, and teens.

Fully ADA accessible with wide climate-controlled hangar space. Visitors note there are also outdoor aircraft exhibits that may be harder to navigate in summer heat. Open Cockpit Saturdays 10am–noon (included with admission) are popular — arrive early. Docents are often veterans with firsthand stories.

It's quite a big museum with lots of aircraft. You can go right up to the planes. There are some aircraft outside, and depending on the time of year, it can be very hot with little shade. All one level, so easily accessible with wide pathways. Not as many benches for seating.
