Palm Springs Aerial Tramway

Overview

The Palm Springs Aerial Tramway — the world’s largest rotating tram car — travels over two and a half miles along the cliffs of Chino Canyon to Mt. San Jacinto State Park at 8,516 feet.

The Valley Station, tram cars, and Mountain Station are all fully wheelchair accessible and ADA compliant. The Tramway is a Certified Autism Center™, with trained staff and sensory guides for 14 locations throughout the facility. Braille signage is available near entrances, elevators, and restrooms. Printed scripts of the tram car narration are available for hearing-impaired guests, and video monitors in theaters and the museum are equipped with closed captioning. Accessible parking and a designated drop-off area are available.

Valley Station, tram car, and Mountain Station are fully wheelchair accessible with elevators and ramps. Mt. San Jacinto State Park trails are not ADA accessible.

Visitors note the parking lot access road is steep; plan extra time on busy weekends. Temperature at the top can be 30°F+ cooler than the desert — layering recommended year-round.
