Los Angeles State Historic Park (also known as Rio de Los Angeles State Park and “The Cornfield”) is a 32-acre urban green space on the former site of the Southern Pacific Railroad’s River Station, adjacent to Chinatown in Los Angeles. The park features paved, level pathways and a 1.2-mile loop trail throughout its grounds, all of which are accessible to visitors using wheelchairs or mobility aids. Accessible restroom facilities are available on-site. Four designated accessible parking spaces are available in the main lot — all van-accessible with striped access aisles — at $2/hour or $8/day. Free street parking is also available near the park. The park is directly adjacent to the Metro A Line (formerly Gold Line) Chinatown station and approximately one mile from Los Angeles Union Station, making it a strong public transit option for visitors who cannot drive.
Admission to the park is free. The park is open daily from 8:00 AM to sunset. Leashed dogs are welcome throughout. Service animals are permitted as required by law; emotional support animals are also welcome.
Visitors note the park is highly manageable for wheelchair users — the trail surface is paved concrete with a gentle grade, and benches and picnic tables are available along the route for resting.
