The Living Desert Zoo and Gardens in Palm Desert is home to over 500 animals representing more than 150 species, set across wide, step-free paved pathways that are accessible for wheelchairs and strollers throughout the grounds. Accessible parking is available near the entrance, and accessible restrooms are located throughout the park, with adult changing tables at two locations and nursing rooms on site.
Sensory bags can be borrowed at no cost. Guests with low vision can check out monoculars at no charge from the Guest Services office, and when a guest who is blind or has low vision is accompanied by an aide, that aide receives complimentary daytime admission. Volunteer-run up-close and tactile carts operate on a rotating schedule and vary from day to day.

Monoculars for low-vision guests require a completed equipment checkout form, photo ID, and a credit card on file, with a $50 charge for unreturned equipment. Up-close and tactile carts are run by volunteers on a rotating schedule and are not guaranteed on any given day.
