Overview

Hollywood Burbank Airport (BUR) is a public airport serving Burbank, Hollywood, and the northern Greater Los Angeles area. Accessible parking for passengers with disabilities is available in the Short Term Parking Structure and Economy Lot C, with an elevator serving all four levels of the Short Term structure. Free wheelchair-accessible shuttles run every 10–15 minutes between Economy Lot C and the terminal building. All restrooms throughout the airport terminals are ADA-compliant. Wheelchair and skycap assistance can be requested via white courtesy phones located throughout the terminal, by speaking with an airline representative, or by calling the airport directly. TTY/TTD phones for passengers who are deaf or hard of hearing are available in the main terminal and on each concourse, with airlines and Airport Operations also reachable via TTY/TTD numbers. Freestanding, private lactation suites are located post-security in Terminal A (between Gates A4 and A5) and Terminal B (across from Gate B4).

Elevator access is provided to the elevated moving walkway connecting the terminal to the Regional Intermodal Transportation Center (RITC) for rental car access, and free wheelchair service is available between the RITC and the terminal via the skycap station. A gate pass can be obtained at an airline ticket counter to allow one companion to accompany a traveler with special needs to or from a departure or arrival gate. Pet relief areas are provided both pre-security (in the outdoor patio between Terminal A and Terminal B) and post-security (in Terminal A, across from Gate A4). A new replacement terminal known as Elevate BUR, designed to meet current ADA accessibility standards, is under construction and expected to open in October 2026.

Visitors generally report that BUR’s compact size makes navigation easier than at larger airports, with short distances between parking, drop-off, and gates. Some visitors note that traffic flow at the drop-off and pickup curb can be congested during peak times.
