Marina Green

Marina Green is a 74-acre waterfront park along San Francisco Bay, stretching between Fort Mason and the Presidio in the Marina District. The park is free and open to all visitors. It features a paved, level path running along its perimeter — flat by San Francisco standards — suitable for walking, jogging, and wheeled mobility. ADA parking spaces are available on site, with free general public parking between 6:00 am and 10:00 pm. Public ADA-accessible restrooms are located at the Marina offices near the west gangway. The adjacent San Francisco Marina has been designed to meet ADA standards, including an ADA gangway with a gentle slope and handrails leading to the dock, and an accessible EZ Launch kayak transfer system with guide rails, rollers, a transfer bench, and slide boards.

The San Francisco Recreation and Parks Department’s ADA program notes that when outdoor parks are labeled accessible, there is a wheelchair access route to the outdoor area and at least one accessible recreational opportunity on site. For programs, events, or park visits requiring auxiliary aids such as sign language interpretation, real-time captioning, or materials in large print or Braille, visitors can contact the department’s ADA Coordinator in advance. Service animals are welcome in San Francisco Recreation and Parks facilities.

Visitors report that the park’s flat, open layout makes it one of the more wheelchair- and stroller-friendly green spaces in the city. The paved waterfront walkway is widely noted as smooth and unobstructed. Parking can be competitive on sunny weekends and during major events like Fleet Week, when some lots may be restricted.
