Petersen Automotive Museum

Overview

The Petersen Automotive Museum on Museum Row is one of the largest automotive museums in the world, with rotating exhibits spanning the history and culture of the car.

Accessible parking and drop-off zones are available. Accessible routes lead throughout the museum, accessible restrooms are on site, frequent benches and rest areas are provided, and loaner mobility aids can be requested.

Sign language interpreters are available with advance notice.

Service animals are welcome.

Some visitors note that the museum is easy to navigate by wheelchair — elevators connect all floors and galleries are spacious. One practical heads-up: accessible parking is only on Level P1 of the garage; the upper levels have no accessible spaces and no elevator access, so confirm P1 availability before visiting. Strollers are not permitted in the Vault, and Vault access requires a separate ticket.

The parking lot is tight and there are only a few designated spots. The first floor shows the history of cars in Los Angeles and the 2nd floor (up a large escalator, but they do have elevators) has rotating exhibits. Some areas of the museum can be a little dark or with neon lighting. It's not us...
