Sports & Events Guide

Sports & Events Venues

The Bay Area’s big venues are some of the best-equipped places for access anywhere — most of the major stadiums and arenas now run sensory rooms or lend sensory bags, assistive listening and captioning are standard, and wheelchair seating with companion seats is available throughout. This guide covers the region’s marquee sports and event venues across the Bay — San Francisco, the East Bay, and the South Bay — and what each offers across every access need, with the detail you need to book the right seats.

In this Guide:

What to Expect — By Access Need

Every venue here has reserved wheelchair seating with companion seats, plus elevators, accessible restrooms, and accessible parking. Most offer a complimentary wheelchair escort to your seat — Oracle Park, Chase Center, SAP Center (request at the North or South entrance), PayPal Park (text 408-909-4625), and Levi’s Stadium (Mobility Assistance Team, 408-579-4610). Accessible seating is sold in advance and often by section, so book it directly rather than assuming a standard ticket will work.

Assistive listening and closed captioning are available at Oracle Park, Levi’s Stadium, SAP Center, and the Oakland venues. ASL interpreters can be arranged at Levi’s Stadium (about a month’s notice for concerts; interpreters present for pre-game and halftime performances) and at most venues by advance request. Chase Center runs an in-venue accessibility text line — (833) CC4FANS.

SAP Center broadcasts an in-arena audio feed with no time delay (tune to 102.1 FM) so blind and low-vision fans can follow the play live. Across the venues, the wheelchair-escort and guest-services teams also assist blind and low-vision guests — request help at any gate.

This is a real strength. Levi’s Stadium has a dedicated quiet Sensory Room and lends sensory bags with noise-cancelling headphones; Oracle Park is a sensory-inclusive certified ballpark with sensory bags; SAP Center and the Oakland Arena both lend sensory kits (noise-reducing headphones, fidget tools, weighted lap pads), with re-entry through an “Extra Assistance” lane at SAP. Register ahead where you can, and ask guest services on arrival.
